Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

MIND Diet AI ("the App") is a photo-first meal journaling app that uses Sign in with Apple for account access. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, how it is stored, and how you can request deletion.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: Sign in with Apple account identifier and, if Apple provides it and you choose to share it, name and email address.
  • Meal photos: photos you choose from your library or capture with the camera for meal analysis. Photos are sent to the backend and OpenAI API to generate analysis.
  • Meal analysis data: detected foods, estimated portions, category impacts, summary text, feedback, timestamps, and related meal log details.
  • App usage data: basic product interaction events used to understand app reliability and feature usage.
  • Diagnostic data: crash logs and performance diagnostics used to fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Device/app identifiers: identifiers used by Firebase and Apple services for authentication, security, analytics, diagnostics, and app functionality.

How We Use Information

  • Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
  • Analyze meal photos and return nutrition estimates.
  • Save your meal history to your account and locally on your device.
  • Protect the backend from unauthorized requests and abuse.
  • Measure app reliability, diagnose crashes, and improve features.
  • Provide customer support when you contact us.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Storage and External Services

  • Apple Sign in with Apple is used for authentication.
  • Firebase Authentication stores account session information.
  • Firebase Firestore stores saved meal analysis records under your authenticated user account.
  • Firebase Storage stores meal photos under your authenticated user account.
  • Firebase App Check helps verify that requests come from the App.
  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics help us understand app usage, crashes, and performance.
  • Google Cloud Run hosts the backend API that processes meal analysis requests.
  • OpenAI API is used to analyze meal photos. The backend sends the meal photo to OpenAI for the purpose of generating the meal analysis.

Retention and Deletion

Meal photos and meal analysis records are retained while your account is active so the App can show your meal history. You can delete your account in the App from Guide > Account > Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your Firebase account and deletes meal records and meal photos associated with that account from our Firebase storage systems.

If you need help with account deletion, visit the Support page.

Camera and Photo Library Access

Camera and photo library access are used only when you choose to take or select a meal photo for analysis.

Health and Wellness Disclaimer

MIND Diet AI is a wellness and nutrition journaling tool. AI-generated nutrition estimates may be inaccurate or incomplete. The App does not provide medical advice and should not be used to diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, or manage any disease or medical condition.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13.
